Harry Wickersham Lions Club Golf Tournament

PURPOSE:  For 30 years the Wimberley Lions Club has supported the Harry Wickersham Golf Tournament which supports The Texas Lions Camp, Inc. (TLC). The TLC provides without charge, a camp for children who are physically disabled, have Down syndrome, cancer or Type 1 Diabetes from the state of Texas, regardless of race, religion or national origin.

The organization was chartered as a nonprofit corporation under section 501 (3)(C) on April 4, 1949 by the Lions Clubs of Texas. The camp is accredited by the American Camp Association and is licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services. More than 80,000 Texas children with special medical conditions have attended the program. TLC fulfills its mission by introducing children to the “Can Do” philosophy, which positions them “to step into their calling” and achieve maximum personal growth and self-esteem.

TOURNAMENT: The tournament is hosted by the Fredericksburg Lions Club on the first Thursday in August each year for the sole purpose of supporting the Texas Lions Camp, Inc. Notices for participation and registration go out to Texas Lions Clubs in early May. They can support about 32, four member teams. All registrations and entry fees must be paid for by July 1st of any given year. It’s important to register as soon as possible to ensure your team has a reserved spot in the tournament.

REGISTRATION: All members of the Wimberley Lions Club will receive notification of the dates, times, rules and fees as soon as they become available to your Lions Club Coordinator (See below). Register and pay your entry fees through your Lions Club Coordinator.
