Scholarship Program Overview
Purpose and Objectives
The purpose of this scholarship program is to support graduating high school seniors from the Wimberley community as they pursue post-secondary education or technical training. Scholarships are intended to help offset the costs of academic or technical programs.
This program is merit-based. Financial need is not a factor in the selection process. Applicants are evaluated solely on the criteria outlined below.
2026 Scholarship Award
For the 2026 academic year, the program will award one-time scholarships of $2,000 to eligible graduating seniors.
Eligibility
Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:
Graduate from Wimberley High School
Graduate from an accredited charter school located in the Wimberley area
Be home-schooled and reside full-time in the Wimberley area
Proof of residency may be required for certain applicants.
Selection Criteria
Applicants will be selected for interviews based on the following factors:

Community involvement and service, including participation in Wimberley Lions Club Market Days

Class rank and grade point average (GPA)

SAT and/or ACT scores
Additional criteria may be considered during the interview process to determine final scholarship recipients.

Scholarship application period opens: February 6, 2026

Application deadline: Friday, March 20, 2026 at 4:00 PM
Completed application packets must be submitted by the deadline to be considered.
